Non-profit organizations depend on several sources for the money
it takes for them to accomplish their mission. We have been fortunate
in garnering assistance from several area organizations and individuals.
This page is our way of saying "thanks." We are listing them alphabetically,
with a brief description of the support they have given us. The businesses
listed below are great places to patronize. Tell them we sent
you!

30th Space Wing, Air Force Space Command, Vandenberg AFB, CA, has been one of our partners since before the CCPP even obtained its charter. Several volksmarchers who would become Charter Members helped the Base put on the Global XVII walk in 1997. We have partnered with them to make subsequent Global events even better. |
| About.com's Walking Guide, Wendy Bumgardner, served for 8 years as an elected officer of the AVA. She is currently "just a club president" in the Portland, OR, area. Her page is an excellent source of information on all aspects of walking, from occasional strolls to walking for weight control to preparing to walk a marathon. | |

Glen Andersen of Lompoc worked as an illustrator for many years on Vandenberg AFB, CA, for Martin Marietta. He helped us bring our mascot, Pooter the Peregrine Falcon, to life. We plan to use Pooter in a series of patches which will be offered as awards at our walks during the next few years. |
| Bank of America Branch #184, 2320 S. Broadway, Santa Maria, CA, 805-925-6664, has given us a free checking account since we organized ourselves in July 1998. (The AVA requires a checking or savings account before a club can be chartered.) BofA thus became our first "corporate sponsor." | |

Dr. J's Bicychiatry of Solvang, 1661-B Fir Street, Solvang, CA, 805-688-6263, began hosting our year round bicycle event when they opened after the New Year's holiday on January 2, 1999. Besides selling bikes and related equipment, the shop has rented bikes to volkssporters who didn't want to bother with transporting theirs. Dr. J's also provided discount coupons for participants in Global XIX. |

Eugene's Shoe & Boot Repair, 709-C E. Main Street, Santa Maria, CA 93454, 805-925-5320. First owner Dave Perry and his wife Ann joined our club. Then they offered a 30% discount on shoe repairs and on merchandise in stock for our Global XIX and YRE events! For a small charge, Eugene's will also stretch those shoes that turned out to be a little TOO tight after all. |

New Balance is the athletic clothing and shoe sponsor of the American Volkssport Association and its member clubs. Thanks to New Balance, clubs (including us) receive free event support packs including start cards, trail marking materials, and other promotional items. New Balance also provided certificates for a free pair of shoes, which will be presented to two lucky participants at the Vandenberg AFB (CA) Global XIX. |

Solvang Shoe Store, 1163 Copenhagen Drive, Solvang, CA, 805-688-4065, opened their doors to our 10 km year round event on New Year's Day 1999 and a visitor from Sequim, WA, became our very first walker. The store has a great selection of dress and casual shoes--and clogs--for both men and women. The store also offers a 10% discount on all shoe purchases (including sale shoes) for volksmarchers. Tell the staff you read about it on the CCPP web page. |

South Side Coffee Company, 105 S. "H" Street, Lompoc, CA, 805-737-3730, hosts our walk in the "City of Murals in the Valley of the Flowers." The cafe serves a wonderful variety of coffees, other beverages, sandwiches, salads and quiches. It's a great place to stop for a bite to eat, either before or after your walk. |
