Event
Description:
The basic 10 km (6.2 mile) trail wanders through the Lompoc civic center, downtown murals, residential areas and by flower fields.  It is flat and on pavement, earning it an AVA rating of "1."  It is suitable for strollers, though wheelchairs will have difficulty at some intersections.  Pets must be leashed.  Public restrooms are available along the route at both Ryon and Beattie Parks.

Because the extra 3 km option is up a steep dirt trail, it earns an AVA rating of "2+."  However, hikers who chose it are rewarded with a beautiful panorama of the valley at the turnaround.

Information:
Halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Morro Bay is located on the Central Coast of California, just a few miles west of the 101 Freeway and on the picturesque Highway 1. When you arrive in Morro Bay, the first things you notice are the landmark, Morro Rock, and beautiful Morro Bay.

Morro Bay resembles a quaint New England fishing village with it's commercial fishing fleet and many private boats. Along the waterfront is the Embarcadero, full of unique shops, outstanding restaurants, and a collection of local art galleries. A variety of motels and inns, from the economical to the luxurious, also sit along the waterfront with fantastic views of the Bay, Morro Rock and dynamic sunsets over the Pacific horizon.
